On this half day-trip to the former ghetto, concentration camp and GESTAPO prison is just one hour from Prague. We will focus on Czech-Jewish history, World War II and the Holocaust. It is a sleepy town in the Bohemian countryside today. This former ghetto and concentration camp is a lasting reminder of the Jewish tragedy of World War II.
I will guide you through the Museum of Holocaust, Secret Synagogue where services secretly took place during the Ghetto period, the Jewish cemetery and the Crematorium. We will also visit the Small Fortress, former political prison and Prague Gestapo prison during World War ll.
This contrasts with prisoners’ courageous resilience. Defying the most dire conditions, people maintained a rich cultural and religious life, held celebrations, even composed and staged operas. Terezín epitomizes the worst aspects of the human spirit but its prisoners left the world striking examples of human potential and the power of compassion. Terezín played a unique role, in the Nazis’ pursuit
