Sibenik is the town where you will feel the soul of the Mediterranean, like in no other town. Sibenik’s narrow winding streets, stony houses, many staircases and the remains of the city walls give it a romantic Mediterranean atmosphere.
This Gothic-Renaissance town is a real pearl on the Croatian side of the Adriatic coast and it is unique in many ways. In some parts of the old town you will have the feeling that you are back in the time of 15th or 16th century. Words cannot describe what this city has to offer. Your will take a walk through the narrow streets of Sibenik, leading to attractive squares where you’ll find architecture of centuries gone by.
The St. Jacob’s Cathedral is the most famous building in Sibenik. It was constructed over a period of a century, and is testimony to the determination, sacrifice and belief of the generations of inhabitants of Sibenik. It is work of a stonemason’s workshop of exceptional beauty and significance. Often visitors say “oh, I’ve seen so many churches in my life and they’re all more or less the same”. After visiting this cathedral and especially its baptistery, visitors say “I haven’t seen anything like this before, I’m really glad I just visited this church”. Since 2000, the cathedral has been included in the UNESCO list of culture heritage but your guide will tell you all about it.
Discover Šibenik by night, and see the town in a different light. Avoid the crowds and enjoy the new perspective, when exploring in the dark.
