Take this 4 Day Tour and visit the stunning Sahara Desert travelling from Marrakech. Explore dirt roads, valleys, mountain passes, canyons, dunes and picturesque villages and discover this unique side of the country. Cross the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi-n-Tichka. Visit the Berber Village of Ait Benhaddou with its world heritage Kasbah. Drive along Draa Valley passing by Berber fortified Kasbahs. Ride a camel in Erg Chigaga and watch the sunset. Spend the night at your Sahara desert camp nestled in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy a scenic drive across the salt dry lake of Iriqui and meet real Berber nomads.
Itinerary:
                
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades gorge
Departure from Marrakech in the morning, acrossing High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka (2260m), to reach to Ait Benhaddou village, the fortified ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs. Ait Benhaddou has served as a natural scenery for many movies producers. After lunch we will head to Dades via Ouarzazate, palm grove of Skoura and Valley of Roses, where we will spend the first night.
Day 2 : Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Risani- Merzouga
departure will be after breakfast to visit Dades gorges, taking the road of 1000 kasbahs drive around the colourful Berber villages of the Dades valley to get to Tineghir with it’s beautiful palm grove. We will continue to the Gorge of Todgha, where we go on a trek along the canyons of about 300m high, a preferred place of mountain climbers. Afterwards we will head to Erg chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert and you will have time for lunch on our way. Once you arrive to the Dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will take a camel ride for 1.5 hour, while watching the sunset, to get to the camp in the oasis. And spend the night in the bivouac at Merzouga Sahara dunes under nomadic tents or outside under shooting stars. Play drums with the camel drivers.
Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif – Tazarine – Agdez – Ouarzazate
Wake up early and climb the sand dunes to watch the beautiful sunrise. Pack-up the camels and trek back to duneline, where you will shower and breakfast at the hotel. Drive on to Ouarzazate via Rissani, where you can stop and visit its Traditional Souks which is considered the largest in southern Morocco. Continue on through the beautiful Draa valley with its millions palm trees. In the evening arrive Ouarzazate and check into hotel.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Telouet – Marrakech
Transfer to Ait benhaddou village, and visit the World Heritage Site, one of Morocco’s most spectacular ksours (fortified villages). Continue to Marrakech with a detour to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and visit the Kasbah el Glaoui and crossing the High Atlas Mountain.
