Daily Tour
10 people
English, Italian
Less famous than Pompeii, the Ancient Roman town of Hercualaneum will give you a more intimate perspective of the daily life of the inhabitants and a new light on the Roman customs.
Meet the guide at the agreed location.
The tour starts with a brief introduction to the origin of the town, its Roman evolution and the final disaster that distroyed it.
From a huge terrace you'll see the entire site from above and the Ancient shore where the bodies of the inhabitants were found during the excavation works.
After a closer view of this area the tour continues with the visit of the private houses still preserved with their fabulous mosaics and frescoes.
I'll focus the attention also on the details that make Herculaneum so different from Pompeii.
We'll cross the public roads until we get to the Thermal Baths that take people by surprise for the extraordinary state of preservation of the mosaics.
AFter crossing the main road called Decumano Maximo we'll reach the College of the Augustales, a small building completely dedicate to Cesaer Augustus.
At the end of the tour you can decide to spend more time in the Archaeological site or to get out with your guide.
At the entrance of the Archaeological site, near the ticket office. I'll be there waiting for you holding a sign with your name on it. It's possible to arrange the meeting point in another agreed location.
The guides are NOT allowed to skip the line but if you buy the tickets online is possible to go directly to the entrance of the site showing the code you receive online. You don't need to print the ticket.
