It is certain that time travel to the past is physically impossible but we can still travel mentally into the past of the ancient Greeks. Starting from the Theater of Dionysus, situated in the north slope of the Acropolis Hill, we come to realize that theater as we understand today was invented in all essentials in ancient Greece and more specifically in classical Athens. We will walk around the healing Temple of god Asclepius. Worshippers came from all parts of the Greek world to visit the temple and receive treatment. We will visit the Roman music hall, Herodeon, built by Herodes Atticus, a controversial personality of the past. On the top of the Acropolis hill we will have the chance to visit the Temple of Athena Nike, the Wingless Victory, Propylea the stunning old entrance to the Acropolis. Next stop,“Erechtheion”. Erechtheion is a temple that has some of the finest decorative details of any ancient Greek building. The tour will continue through Acropolis most famous monuments, the Parthenon, setting it against a turbulent historical background. Afterwards, we will visit the new Acropolis Museum. The museum was founded in 2009 and enables us to reconstruct the past of the Athenians!
